Summer will be here before you know it and that means another opportunity for your budding veterinarian to attend either Pre-Veterinary or Veterinary Science Camp at the Roanoke Valley SPCA.
Roanoke Valley SPCA Pre-Veterinary Science Camp
This program is designed for rising 4th throVugh rising 6th graders.
Does your child wonder what it takes to care for animals or to become a veterinarian? If so, this camp is designed to help them find out by doing hands-on activities that may include visiting an equine vet, using microscopes to identify parasites, giving injections, visiting local veterinary hospitals; making safe animal toys; learning animal training; a visit to Kentland Farm at Virginia Tech, and more.
Pre-Veterinary Science Camp is held the weeks of June 12, June 26, July 10 & July 24.
Roanoke Valley SPCA Veterinary Science Camp
This program is designed for rising 7th through rising 10th graders.
Does your older child seriously love caring for animals or wants to become a vet? If so, this is the program for them. The Veterinary Science Camp is a more in-depth vet science experience for rising 7th through rising 10th graders that includes many off-site field trips. The participants may have the chance to, work with veterinarians, visit the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, learn surgical procedures by attending a live surgery from start to finish, practice surgery techniques in a mock surgery, shadow careers at local veterinary hospitals, and more.
Veterinary Science Camp is held the weeks of June 19, July 3, July 17 & July 31.

Applicants are considered registered once the registration form and payment have been received. Each session is limited to 12 participants to allow for hands-on application of skills, appropriate animal interaction time and for safe transportation to and from offsite field trips for Pre-Veterinary and Veterinary Science Camp. Participants must be at the grade level indicated on the form, no exceptions. Early bird fee applies to registration and payments received prior to April 1, 2017.
