The Roanoke Valley SPCA is accepting applications for the following positions

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR- Part-time position (30 hrs/wk). Pay is $10/hour. A comprehensive job description can be viewed by clicking here.

Job duties include:

  • Recruitment of volunteers to assist in the shelter and at off-site events
  • Maintenance of current and potential volunteer database
  • Communication via email, phone, mail, and online sources
  • Represent the RVSPCA at commuity events
  • Presentations to groups of volunteers, school organizations, events, etc.
  • Work closely with Director of Special Events, Director of Foster & Adoption Services and other departments to ensure that all volunteers needs are fulfilled

Qualifications include:

  • Good oral & written communication skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook
  • People skills to include motivation and instilling a feeling of appreciation
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Flexible schedule is a must, with night and weekend hours necessary.
