Roanoke Valley SPCA Birthday Parties

Your child’s next birthday party at the Roanoke Valley SPCA? You bet! We have games, decorations, invitations and party favors. We even have a party hostess to do all the set up and clean up!

Below is additional information on the various birthday party options or you can download our brochure.  It is recommended that parties be scheduled at least six weeks in advance for best date availability. 

Birthday parties can take place on:
Saturdays at 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. or 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Sundays at 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. or 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

The Celebration of Charity RVSPCA Birthday Party Package
$100 for 10 children (including the birthday child), $10 for each additional child up to a maximum of 15 children.

• Basic pet theme (choose between orange or purple as the primary color).
• 1.5 hours in our party room and a party coordinator
• A fun, age-appropriate craft (choose cat or dog theme)
• Roanoke Valley SPCA goody bag and balloon for each child
• Roanoke Valley SPCA invitations, mailed to you for distribution. Invitations will state that in lieu of gifts to the birthday child, donations are made to RVSPCA.
• A guided visit of the facility, including a behind the scenes tour
• A special visit by one of our shelter animals
• Paper products (cake plates, cups, napkins, utensils and tablecloths)
• Set-up and clean up by the Roanoke Valley SPCA party coordinator

The Basic RVSPCA Birthday Party Package

$150 for 10 children (including the birthday child), $10 for each additional child up to a maximum of 15 children.

The Party Animal RVSPCA Birthday Party Package

$200 for 10 children (including the birthday child), $12 for each additional child up to a maximum of 15 children.

• All items in the basic party package, plus an exclusive Roanoke Valley SPCA “Party Animal” t-shirt for each child and an a selection of one activity from our “Party Animal” Activity list.

The Adoption Themed RVSPCA Birthday Party Package

$250 for 10 children (including the birthday child), $15 for each additional child up to a maximum of 15 children.

• All items in our basic and party animal packages, plus a stuffed cat or dog that each child will “adopt” and take home in a critter box that they decorate. They will also receive a collar and nametag for their new pet!  AND the birthday child gets to name a future shelter animal!

Birthday Cakes/Cupcakes
An exclusive Roanoke Valley SPCA birthday cake or cupcakes from Kroger’s Bakery can be ordered for your party. Please note that these cake and cupcake designs may only be ordered through the Roanoke Valley SPCA. The cost of the cake (1/4 sheet cake, feeds 16-24 people) or 24 cupcakes is $25.00.

Theme Enhancements
Theme enhancements include enhanced theme-specific decorations, crafts, party favors, additional snack for all the participants and a gift for the birthday child. Theme Enhancements can be purchased for an additional $50.

Add additional entertainment to your party. Entertainment Enhancements are booked for an hour and at a rate of $100 per enhancement.

Additional Information
• Parents/hosts will need to provide food and drinks to party guests.
• If you bring ice cream, please bring a scoop.
• We ask that at least two adults stay for the duration of the party and additional adults are always welcome!

Refunds/Cancellations
Refunds, less at $25 administrative fee, will be granted for cancellations made four weeks or more prior to the party. Refunds will not be granted for cancellations made less than four weeks out, the entire party fee will be forfeited if this is the case.

FAQs
Where are the parties offered?
Birthdays are located on-site at the Roanoke Valley SPCA, located at 1340 Baldwin Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24012 and hosted in our meeting room. We do not offer at home or off site birthdays.

What ages are the parties geared towards?
Our parties are for children turning 4-12. We will adapt the program to your child’s age when possible.

How many guests may be we have?
The fee includes 10 children (including the birthday child) and an additional fee may be paid for up to a maximum of 15 children. Adults do not count toward the total number of participants, but they do not receive favors, participate in games, etc. We ask that adults present during the party assist with children as needed and help the party coordinator with simple tasks such as holding doors and keeping the party guests together.

May we bring in food?
You are welcome to bring in any outside food. The refrigerator and freezer will be available if you need to store food during the party. We do not have access to a stove, oven or microwave for you.

May we decorate the room?
Decorations are included in the party fee so additional decorations may not be needed. If you wish to hang a personalized banner (which you bring and purchase) you may do so.

In lieu of gifts for the birthday child, may we ask for donations for the shelter?
Yes, of course! We have many birthday guests who want to give back to the community by asking their friends to bring in items for the animals instead of gifts for themselves. We have a full wish list of items that we always need, or you may ask closer to your party and we can let you know what we are most in need of at the time.

May we bring our dog/cat to the party?
No, for the safety of your pet and our shelter guests, please leave your animals at home.
