Shamrock

Adopted 09/04/2010

Ask about the August Adoption Special for my discounted adoption fee!

This is Shamrock. Shamrock is a very friendly black and white kitty. He is a very friendly fellow with an adorable (handsome, rather) pink nose!  Shamrock sounds like a great guy to me; could he be the kitty for you?
Shamrock has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

The luck of the Irish finally struck Shamrock.  He has been adopted!

Eeyore

Adopted 09/04/2010

Ask about the August Adoption Special for my discounted adoption fee!

This is Eeyore. He is only a baby and already finds himself here in the shelter!  Although it is under unfortunate circumstances, he is here with his 2 siblings Pooh Bear and Tigger to keep company.  They are in a kennel together, so they can play.  Eeyore is looking for a family outside of the shelter; maybe a family to give him a fuzzy mouse and a scratching post and a good window to sun himself.  Come meet Eeyore!  Maybe he's the family member you've been missing!

Eeyore has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Happy Day!!  Eeyore has been adopted.

Missy

Adopted 09/04/2010

Meet Missy!  Missy was found as a stray with her brothers, Dave and Bob.  They are black lab mixes.  Missy has a white chest and some white on one of her paws.  She and her siblings are very, very sweet.  The gang is only 4 months old, so they have a whole life time ahead.  Missy is as sweet and as wondeful as her siblings.  We try to spoil our animals and keep them as happy as possible, but we know a forever family can give our pets more attention.  I'm sure Missy will miss her brothers terribly if they must part, but we know they will all go to wonderful homes, even if they are separated.  Won't you come in and meet Missy.  Maybe she (and her siblings?) will be the pup you need in your life.

Missy has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Missy has been adopted.

Peanut

Adopted 09/04/2010

This is Peanut.  Peanut is just a baby, but was found alone on the streets.  He has likely been through some rough times outside, so he doesn't  like to be held.  He is making friends with his puppy roomies (despite the noise), but we know he will adore the right human family when they come along.  Because he's a wiggler and doesn't like to be held, he will be best in a household with no children under 12.  Everyone in his new family will have to meet him before the adoption is official though, so if you are interested and have children, come see how he gets along.  He's waiting for his forever home, so maybe you can spoil him rotten with love and affection!

Note: All of our animals are put through a routine to check for behavior and temperament, so we have only the sweetest of pets!

Peanut has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Peanut has been adopted.

Ritchie

Adopted 09/04/2010

This is Ritchie.  He was given by his owner, along with his siblings Sneaker and High Top.  The boys are just babies and already find themselves homeless.  They are an unsual mix of Beagle and Pit.  They have little short legs with the big droopy ears of a beagle.  The boys are very playful and sweet, and love to run around after each other's tails.  Our pups and kitties are taken well care of, but we know Ritchie and his brothers need a forever family to spoil them and maybe even share a couch.  We know Ritchie is ready to move out of this loud place (even though he loves his brothers and roomies).  Could you be the one to love and snuggle with him for forever?  Come meet Ritchie and his brothers!

Ritchie has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Ritchie now has a home of his own.

Sally

Adopted 09/04/2010

This little girl is named Sally.  She is a very small beagle who was given up by her owner.  She looks very sad and really hopes her forever family finds her soon!  One of her paws is white with little brown specks.  Beagles are usually very sweet, and Sally is no exception.  She deserves every bit of love any dog parent could give.  Do you think Sally is the one?

Sally has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Sally has been adopted.

Jewel

Adopted 09/03/2010

Meet Jewel.  She is a medium-sized  adult Dalmatian mix, with a face that will melt your heart.  She spent some time in one of our foster homes, so we could learn more about her and let her relax outside of the shelter.  She is very friendly and enjoys a good scratch behind her ears.  Jewel knows to sit, shake, and lay down, and will wait patiently for a treat. She does well in a crate, rides in a car, and loves to go for a walk without pulling.  She's almost housebroken- that is, she might make a mistake, but knows she is supposed to "do her business" outside.  She is a little cautious and gets scared of dogs barking behind a fence.  She does well with older children, but sometimes she jumps, so very children would probably not be best, though she will calm down after she gets out of puppy stage!  She's ready to join your family, when you are!

Jewel has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Jewel has been adopted.

Phoebe

Adopted 09/03/2010

What could be more fun that a Basset mix puppy?  How about 12 of them?  Phoebe is one of a litter of 12 pups born in foster care.  Mom and babies received excellent care, and now it's time for the babies to find homes of their own - and give mom a break!

Phoebe is the shyest of the litter, but she is very friendly and playful.  She has a beautiful face with markings that might indicate that her daddy was a Rottie.  She has a short, squat little body like her Basset mom and should be a medium-sized dog when fully grown.  As with all puppies, Phoebe needs to be taught good manners, but she is intelligent and eager to learn how to be a good dog and family member.

Phoebe has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.  If you are prepared for the challenges of puppy-hood, and the fun that goes along with it, come on in and meet her.

Phoebe now has a home all of her own.

Hewey

Adopted 09/03/2010

What could be more fun that a Basset mix puppy?  How about 12 of them?  Hewey is one of a litter of 12 pups born in foster care.  Mom and babies received excellent care, and now it's time for the babies to find homes of their own - and give mom a break!

Hewey loves to play and is very friendly and cuddly.  He has a beautiful face with markings that might indicate that his daddy was a Rottie.  He has a short, squat little body like his Basset mom and should be a medium-sized dog when fully grown.  As with all puppies, Hewey needs to be taught good manners, but he is intelligent and eager to learn how to be a good dog and family member.

Hewey has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  If you are prepared for the challenges of puppy-hood, and the fun that goes along with it, come on in and meet him.

Hewey has been adopted.

Cinnamon

Adopted 09/03/2010

This little guy is named Cinnamon.  He is about 1 year old and unfortunately had to be given up by his owner.  He has a brown and tan coat.   Cinnamon is a sweet guy, with of course, adorable ears and face.  He'll be a wonderful friend for an experience rabbit friend, or someone who can learn to devote their to time to his new pet!  Rabbits are wonderful and as fun as every other pet, but do require a good bit of attention- just like a cat or a dog.  All of our rabbits are spayed or neutered.

The Humane Society suggests some things to know before adopting a rabbit:
A rabbit owner needs an available area for a fairly large cage. Rabbits require safe, gentle handling and a quiet environment. Fast, uncoordinated movements that are typical of excited children can stress your fuzzy friend! You may need to wait until your kids are older before adopting a rabbit. You will also need to consider expenses. A large cage or habitat (or supplies to build your own), water bowl or bottle, a litter box and litter, chew toys, Timothy hay (or other grass hay), vegetables, Timothy hay pellets, and Fruit/treats are necessities. Rabbits are crepuscular, which means they generally sleep during the day and night and are most active at dusk and dawn. Rabbits need regular interaction with you to stay socialized and happy. They also need at least an hour out of their cage each day for play and exercise. A healthy rabbit diet includes fresh vegetables every day. If you want to keep your rabbit happy and healthy, you will need to go grocery shopping at least once a week. Your rabbit's enclosure needs to be cleaned every day and cleaned thoroughly once a week. If you travel a lot or work long hours, a rabbit may not be a good choice for you. Rabbits can live past 10 years of age, so a rabbit may be with your family for as long as a dog would.
Cinnamon now has a home of his own!

Bob

Adopted 09/02/2010

Are you looking for a best friend?  Bob may be just what you're looking for.  He is a Lab/Shepherd mix with maybe some Flatcoat Retriever thrown in.  Bob will be a large dog when he is fully grown.  He has a beautiful, shiny black coat.  Bob spent some time with a foster family and received glowing reviews.  He is mostly housetrained, but being a puppy, would require frequent visits outside to reinforce the training.  He knows basic obedience commands such as sit  and off.  He walks well on the leash and enjoys rides in the car.

Bob can be a little shy at  first and sometimes strange things will scare him.  He wants so much to please and be someone's buddy.  He will be a great dog for some lucky family.

Bob has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  He's ready for a home of his own, and wouldn't mind a canine or feline sibling as well.

Yippee!  Bob has been adopted!

Cupcake

Adopted 08/31/2010

This is Cupcake.  She is a 7 month old rat hoping to find companionship with someone who does not scream when s/he sees her.  If you're looking for a small companion, a rat might be a good choice.  Here is some more information on owning a rat.

Cupcake has been adopted.

Zippy

Adopted 08/31/2010

Ask about our August Adoption Specials for my discounted adoption fee.

Zippy is an energetic Jack Russell Terrier mix.  He was found as a stray so we don't know much about him.  He is a compact little thing who would need lots of exercise to keep him out of trouble.  Zippy can be a bit shy when he first meets someone new, but he warms up quickly.  He seems to prefer soft treats over hard biscuits and will behave quite nicely for a treat.

Zippy has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  All he needs now is a good home.

Zippy has been adopted.

Pepper

Adopted 08/31/2010

This lovely, medium sized dog is named Pepper.  She is an Australian Cattle Dog mix, with a long coat.  Pepper's coat would require regular grooming to keep it soft and tangle free.  The use of a Furminator would be a great tool in controlling any shedding that might occur as well.

Pepper has a winning personality to go along with her smile.  Even though she isn't a youngster any longer, she has plenty of energy and enjoys chasing a ball.  Australian Cattle Dogs are a working breed and Pepper may try to herd small children by nipping at their heels.  A family with older children would be best suited for a dog like Pepper.

She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.  If you've got a job to be done, Pepper would like to apply.

Pepper has been adopted.

Marble

Adopted 08/31/2010

This little pooch is named Marble.  She came to the RVSPCA as a stray and she is such a nice little dog that we're sure she has another name.  Her coat is a lovely brown/white with a marble patters - hence her name.  Marble is a little frightened at the shelter but she warms up quickly with a kind word and a pat on the head.  She likes to cuddle and will crawl right up into your lap if you let her.  She a terrier mix with the whiskers to prove it.  She also has the most beautiful golden eyes you will ever see.

Marble has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.  We are sure that a lucky family will  find her soon and give her all of the love she deserves.

Marble has been adopted.

Dewey

Adopted 08/31/2010

What could be more fun that a Basset mix puppy?  How about 12 of them?  Dewey is one of a litter of 12 pups born in foster care.  Mom and babies received excellent care, and now it's time for the babies to find homes of their own - and give mom a break!

Dewey loves to play and is very friendly and cuddly.  He has a beautiful face with markings that might indicate that his daddy was a Rottie.  He has a short, squat little body like his Basset mom and should be a medium-sized dog when fully grown.  As with all puppies, Dewey needs to be taught good manners, but he is intelligent and eager to learn how to be a good dog and family member.

Dewey has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  If you are prepared for the challenges of puppy-hood, and the fun that goes along with it, come on in and meet him.

Dewey has been adopted.

Montel

Adopted 08/24/2010

Montel is a very handsome Springer Spaniel mix pup.  His owner couldn't care for him and his litter mates so the RVSPCA is determined to find them the very best homes possible.  We aren't sure what Montel might be mixed with, but he surely looks and acts very much like a Springer.

The Springer is an intelligent, friendly, affectionate and easy-going dog with gentle personality, making him an ideal family dog. Its friendliness extends not only to the people it knows but to strangers too.

These dogs enjoy human company and will do best when they spend a lot of time with their families. When left alone for extended periods of time, they may resort to a lot of destructive behaviors.

Though it's good with children, an Springer Spaniel may be too energetic for small children. Montel will need a family who can put the time and effort into training.  The end result will be a family companion who will offer unconditional love for many years.

Montel has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  Is he the right dog for you?

Montel has been adopted!!

Henry

Adopted 08/21/2010

Ask about our August Adoption Specials.

This charming fellow is named Henry.  He is a Beagle mix puppy with a lot of personality.  Henry is very social and enjoys interacting with people.  Being just a young pup, he has lots of energy and would require time, patience and consistency to become the best friend we know he can be.  He likes treats and should be easy to train with a good supply of kibble.  Henry's previous owner couldn't take care of him any longer and we know there's the perfect family looking for the perfect little Beagle to make their home complete.

Henry has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Yay Henry! Henry has been adopted.

Hank

Adopted 08/20/2010

Ask about the August Adoption Special for my discounted adoption fee!

This is Hank!  He is a young-acting 9 year old black and white Terrier mix.  He was found as a stray, so we don't know much about him.  Hank does have big, beautiful brown eyes.  Hank rides well in the car, enjoys going for walks on leash, and is house trained.  He also loves, loves, loves to have his belly rubbed!    He could make a great new addition to your family.  Do you think he's the one for you?

Hank has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Hank now has a home of his own again!
