Volunteering for the RVSPCA
Volunteering for the RVSPCA is addictive! The only way to understand the feeling of satisfaction one gets from helping the homeless animals is to experience it first hand. The RVSPCA offers a comprehensive volunteer program providing many different opportunities to choose from based on individual interests, talents, and availability.
In order to become a volunteer for the RVSPCA, you must complete a Volunteer Application. A one-time orientation is mandatory, and the time and place for upcoming orientations can be found in the box located at the right. You must be 16 years of age to participate; under 16 you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must attend orientation and volunteer with you. We have many families that volunteer together, and this is a wonderful way to foster community involvement while having fun!
Some of the volunteer opportunities can be found on the Volunteer Application. You can participate in one or all of them, but we do ask for a regular time commitment and some require extra training as specified on the application.
Volunteer Orientation:
Orientation is required prior to volunteering in the shelter. The next volunteer orientation will be held on July 16, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Call Ann Marie Sweeney, 344-4840, ext. 208 or asweeney@rvspca.org.

Volunteer dog trainers help with basic obedience training and exercising the dogs, making them much more likely to be adopted into permanent, loving homes.
