Volunteering for the RVSPCA
Volunteering for the RVSPCA is a rewarding way to give of your time! The only way to understand the feeling of satisfaction one gets from helping the homeless animals is to experience it first hand. The RVSPCA offers a comprehensive volunteer program providing many different opportunities to choose from based on individual interests, talents, and availability.
In order to become a volunteer for the RVSPCA, you must complete a Volunteer Application. A one-time orientation/informational session is mandatory. Informational sessions are held the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6 pm and the 4th Saturday of each month of at 9:30 am. The time and place for upcoming sessions can be found in the box located at the right. Preregistration is required.
You must be 16 years of age to participate; if you are under 16, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who must attend the orientation/informational session and volunteer with you. Volunteering of your time can be a family experience. We have many families that volunteer together, and this is a wonderful way to foster community involvement while having fun!
Some of the volunteer opportunities can be found on the Volunteer Application. You can participate in one or all of them, but we do ask for a regular time commitment of 4 hours a month for a 6 month period. Some positions require longer time commitment and extra training as specified on the application.
For more information, or to register for an informational session, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Ruth Pierce, at 540.339.9506 or via email at rpierce@rvspca.org.

Many pets, waiting for adoption, need your help to find a home. There are many ways where you can help the animals.

Our volunteers are an important part of our day-to-day operation, helping to clean kennels, performing clerical assistance, and socializing the animals.
