Pet Rehoming

Our primary goal is to keep pets and people together but we recognize that there are circumstances that owner’s face that necessitate a pet be rehomed.  Sometimes, owners prefer to rehome pets themselves and sometimes pets do not do well in a shelter environment.  Therefore, we offer a free rehoming service available for guardians who are unable to continue caring for their pets but who want to manage their pets’ placements with other responsible, loving guardians.  This service is available for pets in the following areas:  Bedford, Botetourt, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Montgomery, and Roanoke Counties as well as cities of Salem and Roanoke ant the town of Vinton.  This program is also available to pets adopted from the Roanoke Valley SPCA regardless of location.  Owners outside of this area are encouraged to list their pet on Rehome by Adopt a Pet, a national rehoming site.

All information contained in the pets’ descriptions on this rehoming page has been provided by their current guardians. The Roanoke Valley SPCA does not verify the accuracy of the information provided. It is the responsibility of the individuals who express interest in a particular pet listed on this page to obtain and verify information about the pet’s history.
