Woof! My name is Chessie. I am a sweet girl who loves my people. I am not a fan of other dogs so I would make a great companion for someone who is simply needing a friend to hang out with. I am 69 pounds, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. My adoption fee is $99. Come visit me!

If you are interested in adopting me, please complete our online Adoption Application.  The Roanoke Valley SPCA offers adoptions by appointments Monday – Saturday between Noon and 7pm. Appointments can be made by calling 540-339-9247.  Walk-in’s will be offered the next available appointment.  Pets are adopted on a first come basis. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold pets nor guarantee a pet will be available at the time of your appointment, but we do promise to call you if a pet is adopted prior to your appointment.

The Roanoke Valley SPCA has embraced Fear Free Shelters philosophy and are committed to giving each pet in our care a fear free experience while looking for their forever homes.  The Fear Free® philosophy is designed to reduce the negative emotional states that are commonly experienced by shelter animals, including fear, anxiety, stress, and frustration. We offer virtual walk thru of available pets on our website and at our shelter. The end result is a happier, healthier new member of your family.
