Woof! My name is Uno and I came to the Roanoke Valley SPCA with my friend Flurry. We came from the ASPCA’s Behavioral Rehabilitation Center where we learned a lot of new things and the team learned about us. This is my bio they posted.
Hi there! Don’t you love my ear tuffs?
I am a very sweet gentle gal with an enthusiastic and playful streak! After being rescued from a hoarding situation, I arrived at the ASPCA’s Behavioral Rehabilitation Center in June 2022. I was initially very fearful, but the team at the BRC helped me overcome my fears and discover all the wonderful things there to enjoy in a dog’s life. I LOVE playing with other dogs and toys! I am very excited when I meet other dogs and could overwhelm senior or mellower dogs. I enjoy laying down in my crate to chew on my favorite toys! I enjoy going for walks in quiet areas with my dog friends where I can get lots of sniffing done, but I am also very good at settling down on a bed with a bully stick, squeaky toy or Nylabone to chew. I enjoy laying down in my crate to chew on my favorite toys. I am still a little shy and take time to warm up to new people, but if you give me some of my favorite treats (cheddar cheese or grilled chicken) and offer me a quiet, jolly talk, I warm up quickly. The team at the BRC even discovered that I am very affectionate and love to be pet and snuggled once I warm up to you. I am very attentive of squirrels on my walks and should be introduced to cats mindfully. I’d love an adopter who is going to cherish my sweet silly charm while offering patience and support as I adjust to my new home. Could it be you?!
I am 48 pounds, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. The adoption staff at the Roanoke Valley SPCA has more information about me so make an appointment to meet me. It may take a few meetings to see if we will make a great match but I am definitely worth the commitment!
If you are interested in adopting me, please complete our online Adoption Application. The Roanoke Valley SPCA offers adoptions by appointments Monday – Saturday between Noon and 7pm. Appointments can be made by calling 540-339-9247. Walk-in’s will be offered the next available appointment. Pets are adopted on a first come basis. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold pets nor guarantee a pet will be available at the time of your appointment, but we do promise to call you if a pet is adopted prior to your appointment.
The Roanoke Valley SPCA has embraced Fear Free Shelters philosophy and are committed to giving each pet in our care a fear free experience while looking for their forever homes. The Fear Free® philosophy is designed to reduce the negative emotional states that are commonly experienced by shelter animals, including fear, anxiety, stress, and frustration. We offer virtual walk thru of available pets on our website and at our shelter. The end result is a happier, healthier new member of your family.
