Remember Lil Bit, the momma cat with Feline Stomatitis? Here’s an update to her story!
When Lil Bit arrived at the Roanoke Valley SPCA she was the proud momma of five kittens, all named after clouds by her foster family. Just as they were finding loving homes, the medical team noticed that something wasn’t quite right with her. She appeared to be in great pain. She stopped eating, started to drool constantly and began to lose weight quickly. We knew she needed help, and sent her to VCA Valley Animal Hospital for additional diagnostics. The great staff there discovered she had Feline Stomatitis, a painful disease that affects her mouth and gums.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of people like you, Lil Bit was able to receive the care she needed. She began a special medication to help ease her pain, and while it took time, she started to feel better. She even began eating again! A few weeks later, she underwent dental surgery to remove five teeth, which was another big step in her healing journey. The caring staff gave her all the TLC she could ever ask for, making sure she was comfortable and cared for each day.
We’re happy to share that in September, Lil Bit found her family! She is healthy, happy, and so grateful for the love and care that she received. It’s all because of you. Your past support helped save her and so many others like her.
