Pet Haven Helper’s Day

Volunteers are welcome for all or part of the day! The hardest part of pet ownership is saying goodbye to our beloved fur friends. This volunteer day is dedicated to showing love and respect for our community members and their departed animal companions who have found a final resting place at Pet Haven Memorial Gardens pet cemetery.

Pet Haven Helper’s Day involves helping with landscaping, weeding, clearing debris from headstones, repainting our Rainbow Bridge, and other upkeep or special projects at the Pet Haven Memorial Gardens. All children should be accompanied by a trusted adult. The gardens are not fenced in and volunteers will be using power tools such as hedge clippers, weed eaters, etc.

This is an excellent option for group volunteering, family volunteering, or one-time volunteer opportunities for service project hours. Yard games, a s’mores station, and other activities will be provided for volunteers! A volunteer waiver and social media authorization form are needed to volunteer. Current Roanoke Valley SPCA volunteers should have these forms on file. Adults (who are not current Roanoke Valley SPCA volunteers) can fill them out the day of. If you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian will need to sign your forms before the event.
