Pets in Need of Foster
We have a large number of pets in need of foster for the holiday season as well as for the critical foundation repairs that will take place to our building between December 19, 2019 and January 27, 2020. If you can help, please contact Mary Marr about fostering dogs or Katie Nichols about fostering cats. Because the pets in need are constantly changing, they are not currently found in the foster gallery below.
Our Foster Program
Two weeks can mean a lifetime!
The Roanoke Valley SPCA has made a commitment to saving as many animals as possible. Pregnant dogs and cats deserve a chance to give birth to their babies in warmth and comfort. Infant and orphaned puppies and kittens deserve a chance to grow and thrive so that they may become valued members of a family.
Become a Foster
Ready to sign up?
We require each potential foster care provider to complete a short application to determine what kind of animals he or she is best prepared to care for.
Transitional Foster Program
Keeping families together…
The Transitional Foster Program gives families affected by life-changing situations the ability to get back on their feet without the fear of being separated from their family pets.
Adoption Ambassador Program
Going above and beyond
The Adoption Ambassador program asks for the help of select volunteers and businesses in Roanoke as well as the surrounding areas to help the Roanoke Valley SPCA find loving forever homes for our shelter pets. This program works similarly to our Foster program and turns the Adoption Ambassador into an adoption advocate for their shelter pet.
