dogs wearing masks for safety

With the steady increase in positivity rates and the likelihood for continued increase in Covid-19 cases after the holidays, we want to do all that we can to ensure staff and visitor safety as well as the continuity of care for the pets in our shelter while still providing services to our community.

To ensure that we will always be here to care for the pets, we are moving to a modified schedule for all staff that eliminates cross over of teams as well as reduces the number of staff in the building on a given day or in an office.

In addition, we are shifting adoptions to Thursday, Friday, & Saturday only – Noon to 7pm with an availability of three adoption appointments per hour (Noon to 6pm) and 2 per hour (6pm to 7pm).  This actually provides more appointment opportunities than previously available, just in a different format on specific days only. Our shelter is still open for administrative work and animal intake/care as previously provided.

We strive to keep our community safe and we will be limiting the number of visitors in the building and in rooms. We will be locking the doors and posting a sign on them asking visitors to use the call button.  Adopters will be asked to call from their car upon arrival or come to the door and ring the bell.

We will have new signage to show where adopters can enter the building. We will ask that all visitors stay in their assigned rooms during the meet and greet. Only one adoptive family at a time will be permitted in the front hallways to finish paperwork.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate this pandemic. We hope these new safety measures will keep our shelter animals, staff, and visitors safe so that we can continue to work together and help the pets and people in our community!
