In 2017, 701 animals spent time in foster care. Not only were these animals provided a second chance in life, but by being fostered and socialized, they were given a better chance of adjusting well to their new home, resulting in a more successful adoption.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who has fostered to save and enrich the lives of these animals and their forever families.

We need to increase our network of ready and willing foster homes in order to save even more lives. We are constantly in need of foster homes. The animals need to be at least eight weeks old and healthy before the Roanoke Valley SPCA can spay or neuter them and place them up for adoption.

Have you considered fostering? Foster periods range from 2-8 weeks depending on the age and need of the animals. We will provide you with everything you need, including a crate, food, toys, bowls, litter and litter pans, and medical care. Plus, in case you fall absolutely in love, fosters get first dibs at adopting!

The only cost to you is the time, love, and affection you will give to these precious critters.
