About Kona
Kona has been a part of our family for over 11 years. We love her very much even though we’ve had behavioral struggles with her over the years. She is incredibly smart, happy, playful, curious, and still high energy for her age.
She has been a very loyal dog to me over the years, but became unpredictable in the last few years with more people in the household. As a precaution we’ve kept her in separate parts of our house from our children the last couple years with our other dog. It’s not fair to her to be separated from the family, even though I still spend time with her, walk her multiple times a day, etc.
She needs a single owner she can spend the rest of her years with to enjoy a full life.

Behavioral Concerns: Yes, she is food aggressive and will bite if you touch her while eating. She’s sleep aggressive too, can’t be touched while sleeping and sometimes growls while you approach her and she was sleeping. She also has bitten people when she has hot spots and the reach to touch her.I would overall say she is just unpredictable with people other than me. Can’t be hugged or cuddled. When I had her as a single male owner, she was very well behaved, didn’t have any history of being aggressive, was constantly brought off leash places and to dog parks. After moving her in with my girlfriend and other girls, her behavior changed very quickly and these behaviors developed. I believe she would do well with a single owner situation again.
