Does your child need a little confidence and improve their reading skills?  The Paws to Read Program is a mutually beneficial experience for our shelter pets and children.  The program will help children improve their reading skills in a judgment free zone while also helping the shelter animals by providing socialization and human interaction.

Every Wednesday at 11 am children and their parent will gather in our meeting room to listen to a pet-themed story read by one of our staff members.  The children will then be given the opportunity to practice their reading skills with a pet and brighten the day of the pet in front of them. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite books from home or choose a book from our collection.

Paws to Read will run from June 5th – August 28th.  For more information or to register your child for our Paws to Read program, email Ruth Pierce or call 339-9506
