We will be waiving fees for cats that are 6 months or older for this weekend only. On Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24, 2020, adopters can donate a 14 pound or more bag of cat food or kitty litter in lieu of the normal adoption fee. “All of our cat condos are currently full,” said Denise Hayes, CEO of the Roanoke Valley SPCA. “Our hope is to find loving homes for all of the cats currently in our care, so that we can provide temporary shelter for more homeless and unwanted cats in our community.”
Adoptions include spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccines and FeLV testing. In response to the social distancing recommendations from the CDC and WHO, the Roanoke Valley SPCA has modified their adoption procedures. People interested in adopting a cat or dog must download and complete an Adoption Application from the shelter’s website at www.rvspca.org, then book an appointment to meet a specific pet. Appointments are available Monday through Saturday between noon and 6:00PM and are first come, first serve.
