The Roanoke Valley SPCA is more than just an animal shelter—we are a vital community resource dedicated to creating lasting connections between pets and people in Virginia’s Blue Ridge. With over 25,000 homeless animals adopted into loving homes since 2004, we have a proven track record of making a difference in the lives of both animals and the families who welcome them into their loving homes.     The Roanoke Valley SPCA receives no operating support from the ASPCA, American Humane Society, Humane Society of the United States, or any local, state, and federal governments. This means we rely entirely on donations, bequests, fundraising events, adoption fees, workplace giving, and grants to keep our doors open. Your sponsorship helps us continue providing critical services like pet adoption, retention, and humane education to those who need them most.

    Our mission goes beyond finding homes for animals. We are committed to keeping pets with their families through programs like the Judith Goins Behavior Assistance Program, which offers financial aid for pet training, and the Companion Animal Relief Fund, which helps economically challenged pet owners cover extraordinary veterinary expenses.     Roanoke Valley SPCA is a cornerstone of our community, with over 350 families opening their homes to foster pets each year and our P.E.T. (Pets Eat Too) Program providing more than 80,000 pounds of pet food to home-bound senior citizens and local food banks annually.
